School Psychologist


Delphi Community School Corporation is seeking a dynamic candidate to fill our part time School Psychologist position.  This contracted position is a full time position for the Delphi Community School Corporation that services 4 buildings, and approximately 1,400 students beginning, July 29, 2019.  Qualifications include a Master’s Degree in School Psychology and license for the state of Indiana. The successful candidate will be expected to apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help children succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, adn emotionally.  Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.

Job Description

  • Work collaboratively with staff administrators in identification of strengths and needs of individual students in relation to independent function in the school setting.

  • Conduct full education evaluations and administer psychological and educational tests, make testing observations, and other assessment procedures and record results in IIEP system.

  • Utilize Article 7 criteria in identifying students with special education eligibilities.

  • Communicate with parents regarding referrals, evaluations, adn setting up initial case conferences.

  • Provide assistance in developing Individualized Education Plans through attendance at Case Conferences.

  • Assist in integration and interpretation of information about students’ behavior and abilities related to learning.

  • Provide consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators concerning the educational needs of individual students.   

  • Provide and/or participate in in-service trainings as related to special needs, evaluation process, state and federal regulations, etc.

  • Collaborate in the development of Response to Intervention as an overall system of service delivery and participate in RtI meetings at all levels, including assisting in training in progress monitoring tools and interventions.

  • Counseling of students as needs arise

  • Facilitate the development of FBA’s with classroom teachers by observation and data collection.

  • Conduct Parent Intake Interviews for background testing information.

  • Track and monitor evaluation timelines, as well as overall compliance of evaluations.

  • Collect and analyze data related to school improvement, student outcomes, and accountability requirements.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all student, staff, and special education issues.

  • Follows DCSC’s best practices regarding referrals, evaluations, adn compliance monitoring.
